About JALI
Our Stories Connect Us Across Oceans
Our Mission
JALI is a platform dedicated to celebrating and preserving the lived experiences of the African diaspora. We believe that every story matters, and every voice deserves to be heard. Our mission is to create a global community where diaspora members can share their journeys of migration, cultural connection, and belonging.
Part of We The Diaspora
Founded by Jiya Pinder in 2020, We The Diaspora emerged from the racial justice movement with a vision to celebrate the deep connections and shared heritage across the Black diaspora. JALI is our living digital archive, transforming lived moments into an enduring collection that honors our past and inspires our future.
What We Do
Through JALI, we provide a space for:
- Storytelling: Share your personal diaspora journey, whether it's about migration, family, food, music, or identity.
- Connection: Discover stories from people across the globe and find commonalities in your experiences.
- Preservation: Archive and celebrate diaspora narratives for future generations.
- Curation: Create collections of stories that resonate with you and share them with the community.
